Dorothy Groom, 85, of Aurora, IL passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at her home. She was born September 3, 1938, in Aurora, Illinois. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her eleven children: Phillip (Renae) Groom, Meg Groom, Kevin (Kelly) Groom, Jeffrey Groom, Chris (Alvida) Groom, Peter (Mary Beth) Groom, Matthew (Nadire) Groom, Sarah Groom, Patrick Groom, Paul (Amanda) Groom, and Anne (Kevin Borgia) Groom; a daughter-in-law, Kim Groom; twenty-four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Groom; her parents, Walter and Marguerite (Raymond) Bumpus; two children, Mary Pazzol and Joseph Groom; two sisters, Marjorie Testin and Nancy Karp.

Memorial visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM at St. Mary Church 432 East Downer Place Aurora, Illinois.
A memorial mass will be offered Friday, July 12, 2024 at 12:00 PM at St. Mary Church; Fr. Antoni Kretowicz will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Dorothy’s name may be made to Marmion Academy; the Animal Welfare League or the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley.
