The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is thrilled to announce that we are collaborating with Microsoft’s Datacenter Community Affairs team to implement the Microsoft Community Empowerment Grant for local non-profit organizations connected to Plano, IL, and surrounding communities. This project aims to increase STEAM and digital skill opportunities for children and youth, support activities focused on environmental conservation, and address community needs, such as food insecurity.
-
- Applications will be available from February 14, 2025 – April 1, 2025.
- Non-profit organizations connected to Plano, Illinois, and surrounding communities are eligible to apply.
- The Microsoft Community Grant Program provides microgrants to organizations that have an impact in these areas:
- STEAM programs for elementary through high school aged children and youth.
- Digital skills programs for elementary through high school aged children and youth.
- Environmental conservation programs.
- Access to basic needs through community food outreach programs (food, clothing, other basic needs).
- Grant applications are restricted to requests between a minimum of $1,000 to a maximum of $10,000.
- Funding requests should be for program related costs (i.e. program support, operating, supplies).
- Quarterly reports demonstrating community impact will be required of all grantees.
- The Microsoft Community Empowerment Grant Program is a separate and unique program from the Discretionary Grantmaking Program; thus, any organization can apply and receive funding from both programs.
