CASA Kendall County Receives $3.7K Grant From Community Foundation

Letter To The Editor

Dear Editor,

We are writing to express CASA Kendall County’s tremendous gratitude to the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for their recent grant contribution to CASA Kendall County.

CASA Kendall County is a nonprofit organization that trains and supports volunteers how to fight for children in the child welfare system. Volunteers whose sole mission is to clear a child’s path out of the complex, overburdened child welfare system and into a safe, permanent home.

Behind every CASA volunteer who lifts up the voice and life of an abused or neglected child stands a compassionate donor like the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley. With their much needed supported, CASA Kendall County was able to purchase two new computers, a printer, and software. These much needed tools and resources will help us expand our training and support for the dedicated volunteers who work on the front lines for children.

The generosity of the Community Foundation takes us one step closer to fulfilling the commitment to put a CASA volunteer in the life of every child who needs one.

Sincerely,

Lisa Coffey

…you can always start small, even $25 can make a difference. Remember we can’t take our money with us. Even if it’s just your gift of time. Volunteer and get involved.

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!
