Fund Spotlight: Lorraine B. Bryant Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund
Mrs. Bryant (1904-2002) was a member of St. John A.M.E. Church where she served as a nurse’s aide. She also was involved in the missionary work of the church. Mrs. Bryant had no children of her own, but she was called “Mother” by those she knew. According to friends, Mrs. Bryant had a deep respect for higher education and had often expressed her personal wish for that opportunity. Her bequest to the Foundation was her way of providing to future generations the one dream that had eluded her in life. Read more…

Community Foundation Scholarship Recipient in the News
In an article posted September 21, 2015, the Fox Valley Labor News reports that Community Foundation scholarship recipient Jimmy Tunney is attending Marymount California University. Tunney was awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the Woodruff Johnson & Palermo Labor Scholarship earlier this year. He is studying accounting and playing baseball for the school's team. In 2004, five separate endowment accounts were created to serve the various ministries of the church: Capital Account, Education Account, Mission Account, Music Account and Youth Account.
