In Memorium: Daniel J. Ruddy

 

Daniel J. Ruddy (1927-2008) was a director of the Community Foundation from 1973-1989.

Mr. Ruddy was educated in Aurora parochial schools. He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. His entire career was spent with Ruddy Brothers, Inc., Contractors and Engineers in North Aurora.

Mr. Ruddy was active in many professional organizations. He also gave freely of his time to civic and charitable organizations, including the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Aurora Area Blood Bank, Aurora YMCA and the Exchange Club of Aurora.

As a director of the Community Foundation, he was an active volunteer for the scholarship program. Mr. Ruddy was an exemplary role model who continues to impact those whose lives he touched.

Thank you very much for supporting my college education for these four years. I will never be able to repay you for the opportunity that this scholarship has given to me.
