Renz Addiction Counseling Center awarded $10K grant for medical record software

The Renz Addiction Counseling Center was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley.

Grant money will go toward the purchase of electronic medical record software, which will allow the center to maintain Federal Health Care Reform Act compliance.

The software will also provide health insurance billing compatibility and offer cost-saving efficiencies.

According to a press release, Jerry Skogmo, Renz Center executive director, stated, “The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a valued community partner and we appreciate the support they place on addiction treatment and prevention education. The new software will improve functionality and, in turn, benefit our clients.”

For more information on the center, visit www.renzcenter.org.

There’s no question in my mind that the scholarship I received opened up possibilities.

A community foundation is a donor-driven organization that helps donors custom-design funds that reflect their charitable interests. Through the years, grants from these funds have made a significant impact on our local communities.

As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, I was worried about how I was going to pay for books and supplies. This scholarship will allow me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about how to afford college. I am working to not only create opportunities for myself but to motivate future generations. Thank you so much for helping me along this journey!
