Rush-Copley Receives Grant For New Cancer Care Center
Rush-Copley Foundation has received a grant of $50,000 from the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for the construction of an Infusion Treatment area that is part of the new Cancer Care Center being built on Rush-Copley’s Aurora campus.
The $10.2 million expansion, which began in June, is designed to improve a cancer patient’s experience and provide an enhanced environment that is both warm and comforting. Construction of the 7,186 square foot addition to the Cancer Care Center expands the space to support compassionate, individualized care for patients and families who are managing a cancer diagnosis.
The grant from Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley will be used for the construction of an Infusion Treatment area that will offer a patient-centered design with privacy and comfortable surroundings. This includes access to exterior views of a natural landscaped area, and the Garden of Hope. Once complete, the Infusion Treatment space will be formally dedicated and named for Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley.
“We are profoundly grateful to the leaders of the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley for this generous gift of support,” said Barry C. Finn, president and CEO of Rush-Copley Medical Center. According to Finn, “This gift will assist cancer patients receiving care at the medical center for years to come. We also appreciate the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley leaders for the confidence they placed in our work to provide the highest quality healthcare to the residents in this community.”
Other highlights of Rush-Copley’s new Cancer Care Center include dedicated waiting areas for new patients, established patients and those undergoing radiation treatment; a resource and consultation room for patients and caregivers as well as expanded and new treatment areas.
The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a non-profit philanthropic corporation that administers individual charitable funds and distributes grants and scholarships to benefit the citizens of the Greater Aurora Area, the TriCities and Kendall County, Illinois.
The $50,000 grant to Rush-Copley Foundation is the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley’s first to the medical center for a dedicated construction project.
